2008

How it started

In 2008, for the Clinton Global Initiative, Eszter and Carey volunteered to do original research with parents and children. It led them to a clear conclusion: the most effective way to help children eat better was not to talk to children, but to help parents change their own habits and give their kids good ones early.

Eszter wrote a program for parents, built around the practical and psychological challenges of feeding kids in a world full of food designed to sell. It arrives a little at a time, so parents can try each idea before the next one.

The happy accident

Once it was written, the next problem was how to tell anyone it existed. With no advertising budget, we tried the simplest thing: Google Ads. Setting it up, Carey accidentally checked ☑ World instead of ☐ U.S. The next day, people were signing up from everywhere. For weeks we watched new countries appear. It was one of the best times either of us has had with anything new.

185+

countries and counting.

Today

We have run the program as a private operating foundation, at our own cost, ever since. In 2026 it became a 30-day program with lessons online, short videos and an AI assistant, and the next chapter, Dinner Tonight, is on its way.

The Foundation

Why it's free

There are far too many messages about food from people whose goal is to sell it, and not enough from people who simply want to help you feed your kids. That's why the Foundation takes no advertising, no sponsorships and no money from anyone to recommend anything. Eszter, Carey and the Foundation pay for everything, including this website.
